Winter Park, FL – Building green is no longer trendy. Developers and homebuyers alike are making conscious choices to be environmentally friendly. According to The US Environmental Protection Agency, “an ENERGY STAR certified home is at least 20 percent to 30 percent more efficient than standard homes.” ENERGY STAR is a third party organization that inspects finished units and awards the entire home a seal of approval. Homes that earn the ENERGY STAR label include four “must have” features behind the walls that will make you more comfortable, reduce utility bills and help protect the environment. These “must have” features include air sealing and insulation that works, low E double pane windows, ducts that don’t leak and independent testing and inspections to ensure quality control.
Each home at The Sage is inspected on three separate occasions by an independent consultant to ensure that the rigorous standards of our green building practices have been met and the insulation and air barriers are properly installed. The Sage is partnering with industry leaders including Progress Energy, Teco Gas, ENERGY STAR, Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) and Brighthouse.
Some of the energy saving features you’ll find in each home at The Sage include gas stoves, tankless hot water heaters, low-flow showerheads and other water conserving fixtures, high-efficiency air conditioning, dedicated circuit for charging electric cars, insulation values exceeding code and dual flush toilets.
The Sage’s unmatched location just off Aloma Ave on N. Goldenrod Road provides convenient access to major roadways, Winter Park’s Park Avenue shops and restaurants, as well as the University of Central Florida and many major employers.
