There is a great deal of misinformation that borders on hysteria regarding this legislation, both in the media and from various political groups. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published its Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (40 CFR 745.80 through 745.91) in the Federal Register on April 22, 2008. This new Rule is the last major initiative to come out of the Federal Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992, also known as Title X.

Apartment communities along the light rail corridor in Phoenix just received a huge boost as the City of Phoenix was awarded the third largest energy efficiency economic-stimulus grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. Vice President Joe Biden presented the grant to Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon and City Councilmember and AMA President Tom Simplot during an Earth Day anniversary event at the White House.

HUD Awards More Than $644,000 In Colorado To Promote Jobs, Self-Sufficiency

DENVER - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently awarded $644,000 in grants to public housing and non-profit agencies in Denver that will help public housing residents find employment that lead them toward economic independence. This funding will also link the elderly with supportive services that will allow them to age-in-place. HUD awarded nearly $28 million nationally to agencies across the U.S. In Colorado, HUD funded:

Columbine Homes Local Resident Council - $ 202,317
Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo - 240,000
